Lisbon maine dj: prom 2021

Wow, what a ride it has been.  2020 was rough but thankfully, we are getting back to work and hopefully we can soon put Covid in the rearview mirror.

A huge shout out to Amy at Lisbon High School for working tirelessly to make Prom 2021 happen for the students at LHS. While it certainly wasn’t the original plan, I think everything came together amazingly well. 

What was the original plan? Initially, the idea was to have Prom hosted at the Woodlands Country Club. Unfortunately, due to social gathering restrictions and social distancing, the space wouldn’t have been large enough. The end result? Hosting prom in the gym at Lisbon High School. 

Given the circumstances, I don’t think any of the students cared. The fact that prom was happening: I think that’s what everyone was focused on. What an awesome accomplishments and one that deserves to be celebrated.

Since we were re-inventing what prom was going to look like, I went to work designing an entertainment package that still fell into the original budget, would fill the new space (of a much larger gym) and ensure that students had a good time. The result? I brought out the large RCF sound system including 6 line array cabinets, two dual 18″ subwoofers, intelligent lighting, TV screens and a photo booth.

During the event I mixed music videos and streamed photo booth images onto the TV screens in real-time. 

Special thanks to the students at Lisbon High School for party rocking during strange times. Wearing masks and being socially distant wasn’t part of the original plan but I think we were all just happy to see one another and have a great time.
