Alice + Henry | Bar Harbor Regency

Wow, what a party!

I recall my first conversation with Alice and Henry. It was evident during the consultation process that they wanted a great party and I couldn’t wait to deliver that for them. Thankfully their guests (especially table #1) brought the energy and the party was nothing short of phenomenal. Check out the highlights, special thanks to Lexi & Matt Photography for the amazing photos. Quick side note, it seems like every time I’m in Bar Harbor I get to work with Lexi and Matt. They’re fantastic and I highly recommend them!

Ceremony

I have to admit, I was a little naive here. Alice said her good friend Kristine was going to do the ceremony. Kristine did a wonderful job delivering a heartfelt, touching, and funny service. And, it was very evident that she was incredibly comfortable talking with a crowd. It wasn’t until after the ceremony concluded and I had an opportunity to chat with her a bit that she mentioned she now makes a living delivering keynote speeches at conferences and events. After a few follow-up questions, I realized it was Kristine Lilly, a former Team USA soccer player and one of the most decorated players for the United States Women’s Soccer team. Kristine did an amazing job personalizing Alice and Henry’s wedding and it was a lot of fun to be involved with.

Cocktails

The Bar Harbor Regency is a beautiful property and offers guests an amazing experience as they go through a wedding day. The ceremony location looks out at the ocean and cocktails to take place on a beautiful terrace adjacent to the ceremony location. It’s a stunning view and quintessential Bar Harbor.

Reception

I knew from the beginning that Alice and Henry wanted a great party so when the dance floor opened, I hit the ground running.  Quickly touching on some funk, disco, classic rock, and party anthems. From there we transitioned into the 90s and 00s throwbacks and gradually hit newer tracks as the night went on.

In addition to providing ceremony coverage, a cocktail sound system, and DJ services, I also provided color-controlled uplighting and a selfie booth. If you haven’t seen a selfie booth, I highly recommend looking into one. It’s an affordable alternative to the traditional photo booth while still offering guests the same photo entertainment fun.

For weddings that I DJ at the Bar Harbor Regency, I always recommend uplighting. I think the venue is perfect for the enhancement and the splash of color makes for a great atmosphere when the party kicks in. And, wow, did the party kick in for Alice & Henry. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to provide services for these two!
