It’s happening, school events are coming back in full swing! Last weekend I did a quinceanera up in Southwest Harbor, Maine and this weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Standish, Maine for the SJC Spring Fling! Sure, Spring Fling looked a little different this year compared to years past, but the exciting part is that it happened!

For those who have been following along for years, SJC typically does some very large productions inside the gymnasium. Those productions typically include an overhead truss with large projection screens, a full intelligent lighting rig, a huge sound system, a photo booth, red carpet arrival, and special effects. This year, with Covid still a concern, Spring Fling went outside. It was smaller and the plan wasn’t to throw a huge party. Instead, the vision was to have a casual gathering with activities and great music.

My role? Provide a soundtrack for outdoor activities such as cornhole, swings, seesaws, bonfires, and a food truck. The food truck was a familiar vendor that we work with on a regular basis: Mainely Burgers. If you haven’t had their food yet, do yourself a favor and track them down! 100% worth it – I promise! The “After Dark Park” (a very cool idea) came from Perfect Parties USA based out of Peabody, Massachusetts. I’ve been in the events industry for a long time and this was the first time I’ve seen the After Dark Park. Needless to say, it was a huge hit!

From a services perspective, I brought in a standard sound system, my custom video DJ booth, a pair of 55″ TV screens, and my new tube lighting. The tube lighting has been incredibly popular since I debuted them back at the Maine Maritime Museum for my friends at Stone Cove Catering!
