Windham High School Prom

Portland, Maine DJs

Windham Maine DJs I was excited and anxious for this one! 375 students at the beautiful Ocean Gateway in Portland, Maine for the 2022 Windham High School Prom! What’s the hype about? Well, it’s the first big indoor prom I’ve done since the pandemic started. Sure, we had some outdoor/tented proms over the past two years but those ranged from 50 to 150 students. This was just shy of 400 students and I couldn’t have been more excited to get the show started!

Of course, I’m very familiar with Ocean Gateaway as I’ve done a number of weddings there in the past, I’ve done high school proms, galas, fundraisers, and fashion shows there, too. If you aren’t familiar with the venue and you’re looking for an amazing spot to host an event – you have to check it out!

From a services perspective, I brought in my premium large format sound system including two RCF 9006 dual 18″ subwoofers and six HDL6a line array cabinets. For lighting, I brought an overhead truss and hung four elation moving heads and four pixel tube light fixtures. In addition to the overhead lighting, I also included four ground-stacked pixel tube lights as well. And, of course, I gave away a ton of glow products including glow necklaces and glow tubes!

This was my first time working with the administration and students at Windham High School and I wanted to do it the right way. Brandon and Allison from Windham HS put a lot of trust in my services and based on the conversation that night and in the days following prom, the production lived up to the hype!

Of course, equipment and production are only part of the equation. From a DJ standpoint, I played a lot of current top 40 and hip hop with the occasional “throwback” to 2010-2015. I’ve been DJ’ing for nearly 25 years and this has been my full-time career for the past 13 years so it’s crazy to me that throwbacks are 2010-2015, but when you were born in 2002, I guess that makes a lot of sense 🙂 Biggest artists of the night? Doja Cat, Saweetie, Latto, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X to name a few.

So what’s next? It’s a crazy stretch of events coming up over the next month including audio-visual production for Aroma Joe’s a return stop to Saint Joseph’s College for their Senior Ball and York High School’s prom (just to name a few). Stay tuned and keep checking back for additional updates! Can’t wait to share the amazing events on the calendar throughout May and June.
