Prom at Ocean Gateway in Portland, Maine

After crushing Thornton Academy’s prom at Halo at the Point last weekend, I was super excited to be back on the road to party with all the students from Windham High School! This week we found ourselves at the stunning Ocean Gateway in Portland, Maine. It’s a venue that I’m super familiar with as you may have seen from previous blog posts. I’ve been doing events at Ocean Gateway for 10+ years and it’s one of those venues that still leave you in awe. Such an awesome view from everywhere you look!

If you’ve been following along for some time, you may recall that I had an opportunity to DJ the Windham High School prom last year. So, it was humbling and exciting that they called back to have me DJ their 2023 prom as well. Spoiler alert: I’ll be back for the 2024 prom too!

I love establishing new and long-lasting relationships with schools and corporate clients. My business is built on offering phenomenal customer service and a top-notch day of service. So, as you can imagine, it means a lot when a first-time client asks you to return to DJ their event(s) the following year.

Get The Party Started!

For this year’s prom entertainment, I brought in a spread of intelligent lighting, pixel tubes, uplights, and a huge sound system to fill the entire space. In addition to the sound and lighting, I also had an open-style photo booth with props and prints. The photo booth was a huge hit and had a line all night long. And, as the sun started to set, the energy on the dance floor was electric. Windham brings the heat and the party was turnt up. As an open-format DJ, I specialize in playing music from all genres. When it comes to school dances having that music knowledge is a key component to a great party. I always find with school/teen parties the music is a collection of party classics, “throwbacks” and chart-toppers. Heavy on the chart-toppers and current tracks.

A huge thank you to the students who brought me into DJ their 2023 prom. It was an absolute blast. Thanks for the memories and I’m looking forward to returning and being the DJ for the 2024 prom too!

But, let’s be honest having John’s Uncle Bob play music at prom just isn’t the same as having a professional DJ company come in and throw an epic party.
