Maine Maritime museum

Bath, maine dj

I was pretty amped to get the call for this one! What’s the big deal? Well, this party was for my dear friends over at Stone Cove Catering and The 1812 Farm and it’s always humbling when industry professionals hire you for their own events. I’ve worked events with Sarah, Cynthia, and the rest of their crew for years (you can read about our most recent collaboration here). Naturally, when they called and asked if I was interested in doing their company party, I jumped at the opportunity.

I love good people and Sarah and Cynthia have done a phenomenal job at surrounding themselves with an energetic, upbeat, and genuine staff. I see it on the road at other people’s events and I got to see it on full display at their event.

Like most company parties the ages varied and the atmosphere was laid back. They had games like corn-hole, jumbo jenga and I brought the social booth and was mixing videos on my signature video DJ booth. The music spanned everything from 60s rock to current hip hop and everything inbetween. And, I do mean, everything in between.

DJ + Social Booth + New Lighting

When you’re DJ’ing for good people you do good things, right? I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to roll out my new lights and new look so I figured this was the perfect opportunity. Why not? Previously, for dance floor wash lighting I offered a couple of lights on a t-bar. It gets the job done and works fine. I’m always looking to push things further and make improvements so, new for 2022, are the Astera AX1 Pixel Tubes. They’re a phenomenal light, make for phenomenal photos and dress up the DJ area to be a show stopper. Check the photo, what do you think? I hope you like them as much as I do! I’m incredibly excited to get them on the road and for guests to see them in person.

And, no surprise, the social booth was a popular addition to the service offering, too! (Haven’t seen a social booth? Here’s a quick blog I wrote a while back with a 90 second video showing how you can use it and all the fun it creates at events) Not only do guests have the opportunity to have some fun, but when logistics allow I also put the photos on my video DJ booth during the event. What a reaction this gets and it’s one of my favorite parts of having the signature video booth.

And, of course, I got to DJ at a museum, how cool is that? One of my favorite things as a DJ is traveling to new locations. And, believe it or not, even after all these years of being a DJ here in Southern Maine, I still find venues that I haven’t been to before. This time around I headed to Bath, Maine to spin at the Maine Maritime Museum. If you haven’t been there before, it’s definitely worth the stop!
