York High School Graduation 

York High School Graduation | Class of 2023! 

Award season and graduation season are in full force and I’m having an absolute blast traveling throughout Maine providing audio-visual production services for all these amazing milestone moments. I’ve had an amazing partnership with York High School for many years (we’ve done proms, graduations, project graduations, senior nights, you name it – we’ve done it!). And while the weather hasn’t been too kind to us this spring we got really lucky with York’s graduation. It spent the morning raining and many of the other area schools decided to move their graduation ceremonies indoors to avoid any possibility of mother nature impacting the celebration. In an attempt to avoid using the gym and theater for graduation, the decision was made to keep the ceremony outside on the football field. And, it paid off! It was an overcast day and a little chilly but there was no rain and everything went exactly as planned!

With nearly 1,000 attendees on the football field, it’s crucial that we deploy an adequate sound system that covers such a large territory. At the stage level, I provided a line array system. Further down the field, we had delayed stacks that were timed in sequence with the stage speakers to deliver audio in sync with everything else. These delayed audio stacks provided adequate coverage for attendees sitting further back and in the bleachers. I always trust my Shure ULX-D microphones with graduation ceremonies and paired with the external fins they did not disappoint. Our audio-visual tent was 100+ feet away from the stage and there was never a drop in audio. All audio was delivered clearly for all guests to hear and enjoy.

Project Graduation Entertainment

Similar to Yarmouth High School my team also provides entertainment for the York High School project graduation that starts just a few hours after the commencement ceremony concludes. For the 2023 project graduation, we provided Laser Tag and DJ entertainment. The laser tag is always a big hit and students always love forming teams and competing against one another. The DJ paired with laser tag provides an awesome soundtrack for the festivities and keeps the energy in the laser tag arena upbeat. This is important when project graduation goes overnight and graduates are running on fumes!
