Bar Harbor Club Weddings

Bar Harbor Club Event Space, Before Uplighting

For many, Memorial Day weekend signifies the kickoff to summer. And, here in Maine, it usually means that wedding season is getting underway. This year, I was fortunate enough to spend my weekend in Bar Harbor, Maine providing Wedding DJ services for Alex and Isaiah’s Destination Wedding. These lovebirds hosted their wedding at the stunning Bar Harbor Club and celebrated their big day with 170 of their closest family and friends. From a services standpoint, I provided entertainment with my signature DJ booth displaying the newlyweds initials. I also provided a ceremony sound system outside on the patio and a cocktail sound system inside near the bar. I find setting up individual sound systems in each location ensures that the day flows smoothly, without interruption. I hear from event planners on a regular basis that many Maine Wedding DJs setup and tear down multiple systems, relocate them and as a result there are gaps within the coverage provided. My philosoophy is a bit different, I take every step possible to ensure the appropriate atmosphere is created during all portions of the day. Aside from audio coverage, I also provided complete ballroom uplighting, which really enhanced the event space.

Throughout the planning process I had the opportunity to converse with Alex and Isaiah on multiple occasions. From Skype calls to email exchanges and I got to know and appreciate the atmosphere they hoped to create for their wedding day. The goal with the uplighting was to provide a soft glow to match the soft white color from the chandeliers. The final outcome looked stunning! Their choice in uplighting color created an elegant and intimate ambiance which was perfect for the event space.

More importantly, a great party is what Alex and Isaiah really wanted. They knew going into their reception that their families liked to dance and let loose. And they were right! The dance floor was absolutely packed from the introductions through the last song. What I loved about working with Alex and Isaiah is that they wanted to set the tone for the party from the very beginning. Introductions were high energy and guests were encouraged to join the newlyweds for the Hora immediately following their first dance. The mood was set for a party before dinner even started and guests really responded well to it. And the energy, wow! It was contagious. These two are lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people, that’s for sure!

As an added bonus, I got to work alongside the incredibly talented Kate Crabtree of Kate Crabtree Photography. I’ll be sure to share some images but having worked with Kate in the past I already know they’ll be stunning!
