Is there a better spot in Maine to get married?
I grew up about 40 minutes outside of Bar Harbor. And, while I live much further away now, Mount Desert Island has always held a special place in my heart. I love traveling to that region of Maine to provide DJ services and I was so honored when Amanda and Jason brought me into their amazing team of wedding vendors.
The Bar Harbor Regency
If you’ve been following along, you probably know that I do a lot of weddings in Bar Harbor. You may recall Alice & Henry, Jessica & Jamal, Emily & Jake, Steve & Kelly, or Alex and Isaiah’s weddings that I’ve previously blogged about.
So when Amanda and Jason mentioned the Bar Harbor Regency to me, I was able to offer some tips and suggestions based on all of the previous experience I had with the property.
Let’s talk about the venue…
If you’re considering a wedding on Mount Desert Island, I think the Bar Harbor Regency has to be on your list of venues worthy of checking out. Its smaller footprint allows for intimate gatherings but you still get the tranquil setting that Bar Harbor has to offer. The lawn for the ceremony looks out at the Atlantic Ocean and they have a dedicated patio for cocktail hour. The flow from the event space to the cocktail location is effortless and breathtaking in its view. Uplighting looks amazing in this space and really helps transform the room once the sun sets. Whenever I’m asked for a recommendation on lighting at the Regency it is always my go to!
But, Greg… What about the party?
It was nothing short of amazing! Jason and Amanda, surrounded by all of their friends hit the dance floor and never left. Such an amazing celebration and I was so happy to be part of it. Music included a variety of 90s and 2000s tracks with a few classics along the way.

We hired Greg to DJ our recent wedding and we’re so glad we did.
