Maine Wedding DJ, Event Recap: Jeff and Erin hosted their beautiful ceremony and reception at Point Lookout Resort on Friday, August 30, 2019. Their ceremony was hosted outside with panoramic views of the ocean. It was a clear, beautiful day and guests soaked up the view while listening to Captain Barnes marry these two lovebirds.
From a services standpoint, I provided ceremony music, cocktail music and DJ/Emcee services for the reception. Lighting was simplified for their wedding as I provided a simple (and elegant) dance floor wash. The dance floor wash is utilized once the dance floor opens and provides a splash of color focused on where the action is. In addition to providing a bit of ambiance, the lighting is also effective at adding to the energy and atmosphere once the party gets started.
Speaking of the party, it was amazing! Jeff and Erin, surrounded by their loved ones, partied all night. The music of choice? Much of it was centered around the 70s and 80s with a few top 40 hits sprinkled in. But their crowd definitely loved funk, soul, disco and 80s pop! That’s what I love about wedding receptions, especially with couples who travel to Maine to get married. Every group is different which means the soundtrack for each event is unique. I never go into the night with a predetermined playlist of songs to choose from. I love working off the energy of the group and picking music based on their body language and feedback.
